[Artist Statement] Tell us more about your photo by sharing a brief artist statement OR answering this prompt: "This is what being ______ means to me..." (Max. 100 words)
I am an interdisciplinary artist often working from a base of clay. Drawing from observations, in-depth research, lived experiences, and fiction, I combine ceramic pieces with other media to create experiential sculptures. My hope is that my work invites others to be curious and motivated to engage with the world around them in new ways. I am especially attracted to themes of loss and kinship, and I frequently use metaphors from nature to explore social and personal dialectics. For me, creating is a way of advocating while also working through my internal landscape.
[Visual Description] Describe your photo so we can provide alt-text. Example: "Two women holding hands and smiling as they walk in a pride parade, surrounded by rainbow flags."
