This image captures what being a lesbian feels like in it's best moments. It's a simple photo of my close friends Annie and Annabel (the 'Annies'), lovers who despite sharing the same name couldn't be more different. It's a simple image of them laughing at the club, embracing. I think queer joy is somewhat under-represented in art, because we are constantly experiencing hardship from a world that still does not yet fully accept us. We therefore do not let ourselves stop to consider the beauty in our happiest moments. I think that's a shame. We love being lesbians, and no amount of bigotry can take that from us.

[Visual Description] Describe your photo so we can provide alt-text. Example: "Two women holding hands and smiling as they walk in a pride parade, surrounded by rainbow flags."

Two girls laughing in a club with strobe lights, one has confetti hanging from her mouth
