The area of Regent Park in Toronto is one of the last remnants of low income community housing in the city, yet like similar areas is constantly threatened with demolition and disgust from the city at large. In my expression of thanks and beauty to an area that's supported me for years, it felt natural to use its unconventionality as a stage for celebrating me and my friend Laurens trans identity.

[Visual Description] Describe your photo so we can provide alt-text. Example: "Two women holding hands and smiling as they walk in a pride parade, surrounded by rainbow flags."

A person sits legs stretched out across a ruined chair, with no shirt proudly displaying their tattoos and chest binding. Behind them, an aged overgrown apartment complex near ruin.

[Agreement] In the event that you win the 2026 Curve Photo Contest, do you consent to having your photograph printed for the sole purpose of displaying at The Curve Foundation's one-day event at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (San Francisco, CA) during Lesbian Visibility Week? The Curve Foundation will cover printing costs, but will not cover costs for mailing the print after the event ends.

Yes
