This is a photograph I took at the Dyke March in NYC during pride in 2025. This image has particular meaning to me because I had been struggling to understand my own identity as a lesbian, especially living in Austin at the time, and it made me feel at home to be surrounded by so many and so much love for lesbians. We marched together and lifted our voices to demand our rights, and the rights of other marginalized people across the world during a time of particular political unrest. The person holding the sign exemplifies queer pride and the love and solidarity that we need now more than ever in our community.
[Visual Description] Describe your photo so we can provide alt-text. Example: "Two women holding hands and smiling as they walk in a pride parade, surrounded by rainbow flags."
Person wearing American flag overalls and a crown, standing in the middle of a street in Manhattan holding a sign reading “God is a Lesbian” over their head.
