“her hair belongs to the river” on 35mm

Returning to land bases that hold embodied memories, the river rushes over us and pulls us in. She dips her fingers in, a small smile on her lips. No one can see us but our queer ancestors know we are here.

Shot in the submerged forest, Nisgaa Territory.

[Visual Description] Describe your photo so we can provide alt-text. Example: "Two women holding hands and smiling as they walk in a pride parade, surrounded by rainbow flags."

A girl smiles gently, her hair is sandy blond and blowing in front of her face. Behind her, a cedar tree forest is submerged in a river, that courses blue and rapids white spray as it rushes through the trees.
