my loverfriend, ángel griot, and i have been dating long distance since July 2023. each year since then, we’ve been each other’s Valentines. the care, intimacy, and passion we extend each other is reinforced by our commitment to rejecting COVID denialism through taking precautions like masking in public spaces and testing regularly. we dream of growing old together, and we recognize that holistically prioritizing safety increases the chances of our longevity. being together is worth it, no matter the distance that separates us. our love is worth it, even as — perhaps especially because — empire crumbles around us.

[Visual Description] Describe your photo so we can provide alt-text. Example: "Two women holding hands and smiling as they walk in a pride parade, surrounded by rainbow flags."
