This is what being liberated means to me. Embracing one another wholly, with unconditional love and equal amounts of tenderness. Feeling free in one's own skin and to desire another for exactly who they are is the feeling that is evoked for me when I made this portrait of Wendy and Summer last year. When I see the portrait, I sense mystery yet a profound sense of safety and presence simultaneously.
