- As a 61-year-old androgynous, activist lesbian/dyke/queer, I do not conform to societal norms: not heteronormative cisgender women’s roles; not a contrite worker selling my labor to pay my rent but suffering in silence; not being silent as a person living with Long COVID and bipolar. And I’m certainly not going away or being disappeared just because I am in the checked box category of 60+ and that’s it… no higher age stated – as if women over 60 are all now somehow dead.
