Returning to each other after distance.
When she came home from visiting her family in the Philippines after her grandmother’s stroke, her body carried grief, exhaustion, and love all at once. I wasn’t able to go with her, but this moment was how we found our way back: resting together, holding each other without words. She walked through the front door and fell asleep in my arms on the couch. Queerness, to me, is building a life where care is easy and home is soft.
