I started cutting and dying my own hair when I was 11 years old. To me, a huge part of queer identity and culture is DIY at-home haircuts because you know your local hairdresser doesn’t understand that you DON’T want a Karen cut. A stained bathroom sink for the price of an “I love your hair” from a cute girl on the street.
