Reflected in You

- This is the first self-portrait I’ve taken with a professional camera. I’m usually behind the lens, so stepping into the frame felt unfamiliar and vulnerable. In the image, my best friend holds a mirror, reflecting me as I photograph the moment. I didn’t want to do this alone—she is truly a mirror in my life, reflecting the best parts of me. Including her makes the self-portrait feel whole, shaped by friendship and support. I took this photo after cutting my hair short for the first time, finally feeling like myself and ready to be seen. - Black-and-white photo taken outdoors in a park. A woman stands on grass with trees behind her, holding a round mirror up in front of her face. Her eyes and forehead are visible above the mirror, and her hands grip it on both sides. In the mirror is the photographer's self-portrait, she is seen smiling slightly while holding a camera up to her eye, capturing the image. See all items with this value
