- I am always trying to figure out how to show the multiple layers of my identity in my art—being a Deaf dyke who grew up in a rural area in the Midwest. I need language to communicate that so I can show how deeply I love my woman. In this picture, there is a beautiful flower, just like my woman. My hard work gloves represent being a farmer’s daughter and my willingness to go to any length to make sure my woman feels special. I sign “vagina” in my visual language, ASL, as part of expressing who I am. See all items with this value
- The Bird of Paradise flower is in front of the brick wall, while the farmer’s hands, wearing work gloves, are positioned in front of the flower and the sign that says ‘vagina.’ See all items with this value
