Read about the Winners and Honorable Mentions in Curve magazine's spring issue, Vol. 35 Issue 2. The winners also have their work displayed as part of The Curve Foundation's Lesbian Visibility Week program at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts on April 24, 2026.

All of the submissions are proudly displayed in this digital exhibit as part of the Curve Archive. Click on the thumbnails to read submitted statements for each entry.

The annual Curve Photo Contest is inspired by Curve magazine's 35-year legacy of depicting lesbian life. This year, we received a record-breaking number of submissions. For the contest, we invite community members who self-identify as lesbian, bi, trans, and queer women and nonbinary people, to participate in submitting photographs that depict queer lives/ queer identity. The original Curve Lesbian Life photo contests ran from 1995-2006 and received thousands of mailed-in photographs. Today, we ask applicants to submit them virtually to the Curve Archive site, contributing to Curve's legacy of building an accessible queer archive.
