Archival Policy & Disclaimer

Curve Magazine Archival Integrity Policy

Curve magazine maintains a complete and accurate archive of our publications to preserve LGBTQ+ history and visibility. These materials document the stories, culture, and journalism of their time and are an essential part of our shared heritage. To reflect the historical record, Curve does not alter, redact, or remove any printed magazine content, including names, images, or articles, from either print or digital archives. This policy protects the integrity of the publication and ensures that future generations can access an unedited record of queer women’s media history.

Language Disclaimer

We acknowledge that these historical records may contain outdated and/or harmful language, especially regarding gender and sexual identities. Some original language has been retained in the archival descriptions to promote searchability and discoverability of the collections, as well as to inform historical context. The use of this description is not an endorsement of the language it contains. After consulting pertinent literature and colleagues in the queer archive field, we made the choice to remove any deadnames from archival descriptions. They do, however, remain in the archival material itself.  If you come across any oversights in this catalogue regarding deadnames or otherwise harmful language, please reach out to us at info@thecurvefoundation.org.
